The George
The George is our closest pub and a beautiful country inn, situated in the heart of Castleton. A small friendly pub, serving home-cooked meals. John and Vicky certainly make you feel at home. Welcomes muddy boots and dogs, lovely open fire. Full take away service available. Friday night quiz just after 9 pm.
The Castle Hotel
Part of the Vintage Inns pub chain serving reasonable food at a reasonable price with a good selection of draught beer and wine – you get what it says on the tin. Situated in the centre of Castleton they are a dog-friendly pub.
The Bull’s Head
The Bull’s Head is a family-run inn offering home-cooked meals, a little larger than others but still has good food and atmosphere. They will provide a warm welcome in comfortable surroundings and have recently undergone a major refurbishment, but still retain traditional features, leather settees, and open log fires during the winter months.
The Nag’s Head
A timeless 17th-century coaching inn, in the heart of Castleton with a full menu and selection of real ales with open fire. Limited takeaway option. Often has live music on a Saturday.
The Peak Hotel
A local “Eccentric Alehouse” that has been totally re-invented following a change of management, good pub-food, posh burgers, quiz night, live music. This pub is popular with locals and tourists alike. They offer classic pub meals from experienced chefs using fresh ingredients.
Ye Old Cheshire Cheese
A delightful 17th Century coaching inn with an old, traditional pub atmosphere and a great selection of homemade meals and award-winning, local cask ales. A wide selection of traditional pub meals with healthy-sized portions, it’s definitely worth trying the pie. Sunday night quiz just after 9 pm.
The Swiss Tap
A cozy bar with friendly owners and inexpensive takeaway service, so why not pop in for a drink whilst waiting for your food to be prepared. They also provide a selection of board games.
1530 The Restaurant
Tim and Alicia invite you to sample the menu ranging from the more traditional to modern Italian-inspired Cuisine. We have a range of Pasta’s, Pizza’s, Steak’s & Seafood Dishes and the Al a Carte menu is also available at lunchtimes.
1530 The Restaurant opened in 2010, after undergoing extensive development to transform the property from a bookshop. It offers modern British & Italian influenced dining in a relaxed, comfortable and elegant setting. The name of the restaurant originates from the year the building was originally built, and it retains its traditional low ceilings and stone walls.
Rose Cottage
Rose Cottage is a fully licensed Café and Tea Rooms, welcoming guests with a cosy haven in winter while offering outside tables for in the summer – including a charming rear garden and covered area perfect for any accompanying four-legged visitors. Using fresh, locally source ingredients they serve breakfast, lunch, and an array of homemade cakes, with a wide selection of hot and cold drinks also available.
Tilly’s Tea Rooms
Traditional English Tearooms set in the beautiful village of Castleton. “Superb Tea room with great menu”.
